A Message From Our VP of Recruitment

Welcome to the Beta Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi at USC! We are so excited to meet you and to welcome you into the Panhellenic Community. Just three years ago, I remember getting prepared for recruitment and how nervous I was as I hoped to find my new home away from home. Little did I know, going through the recruitment process was a life-changing decision for me.

Transitioning from a small high school to a large college was not easy for me; however, the recruitment process provided me with an opportunity to find a sanctuary and place for unconditional support: Alpha Phi. During Recruitment, I was immediately struck by Alpha Phi. Walking into the front door of my now-home, I was immediately surrounded by insightful conversation, meaningful connections, and genuine support systems.

Unprecedented times over the past few years have brought our sisterhood together and have reminded us how much we lean on one another, but we are still just as excited to welcome new Phis to our family. As Formal Recruitment approaches, Alpha Phi wants all of you to know how grateful we are to meet you. Amidst all the hard times, I have found comfort in the sisterhood that I found within Alpha Phi more than ever. I have found optimism, authentic discussion, and encouraging growth and so much more during a time that has not always been positive. I can only hope that Panhellenic recruitment allows you all to find your home as well.

We can’t wait to meet our new Phis and give them the best possible new member experience this year. Though we anticipate a virtual start to the semester, every new member will receive the exact same new member process as normal including Bid Day, Big/Little, Sisterhood, Initiation, and so much more. We promise to make the most out of recruitment and the following new member experience.

Wherever your journey with Recruitment takes you, Alpha Phi supports you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish during your time at USC!

Love,

Alesha Dean-Wethersby
